PERMANENT AND ABSORBABLE ANCHORS

For many years, medical customers have worked with APEX as an approved vendor providing a variety of services and products for the implantable market.

Our capabilities include both prototype and production close tolerance tooling to precision molding and secondary operations for materials such as PEEK, Polyurethane and PLA resins

These products range from implantable screws and anchors to spinal disc replacements. With our EN ISO 13485:2012 and ISO 14644-1 Certifications, APEX is one of a small group of medical molders with these capabilities.

ASSEMBLY

With the focus on Medical Molding, APEX has also entered into the market of Clean Room Assembly. Project Engineers work closely with our customers to review their requirements and provide a cost effective solution. The availability of up to 1,000 sq./ft. within the Clean Room will be set-up to handle both Manual and Automated Assembly Cells. These cells will have the capabilities to support the following:

►Mechanical De-gating
►Automated Assembly
►Final Packaging and Sealing Systems for ETO & Gamma Sterilization

CLEANROOM

Our ISO Class 8 Clean Room supports all medical molding activities which include First Piece Inspections, Part and Process Validations, Manual and Automated Assembly Cells and Final Packaging Operations. Located within the Clean Room are the following:

►(9) Electric Injection Molding Machines ranging
from 55 to 200 Tons.

►(9) Dri-Air Material Dryers ranging from 150 lbs to 15 lb.
capacity with fully automated material handling systems.

►(2) Oil heaters for processing high heat resins.

►(1) Vertex 410 Inspection System supporting First Piece Inspections and Process Validations.

►(1) HealthStar Blisterfill packaging machine.

►(1) 16 position, 4 color pad printer

STERILE BLISTER PACKAGING

This is just one example of specialized packaging in which we provided not only the product design, mold designs, mold building and molding for this two shot molding application, we actually provided the packaging machine, the packaging molds and an all exclusive solution for packaging including sterilization.
